When you’re executing your meticulous plans for the perfect wedding day, as a perfectionist (which most people become when they’re about to tie the knot), you have to think of absolutely everything. First of all, there is the picking of the perfect venue that coincides with your personal style, the décor and ambience, perfectly coordinated outfits for the bride and groom, not to mention the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Then, there are the logistical matters – what kind of wedding feast you want, sit-down, buffet, family style? On top of that, there is the scouting for the perfect band that will have everyone on their feet, as well as the search for the best photographer who will catch the beautiful and candid moments. Finally, there is the devil in the details – the little details themselves.
If you’ve been to a lot of weddings, then you know they can get a little wild. From décor and food to the wedding dress itself, often things are very big, flashy, and over-the-top, and a lot of couples delight in that kind of dramatic flair. And you know what? That’s great. It’s your wedding, and if you want it to be a grand spectacle, that’s something that should only be encouraged. However, with the recent trends, a lot of brides are actually looking for something simpler. Minimalism is becoming popular again, and if you’re not the kind of couple who likes to make a big fuss, it could be just the kind of direction to take for your big day.
Getting married is a wonderful experience, but the big wedding meal you’ll be having with all your special guests is the most important part, right? Right. Whether you’re catering for picky eaters or those with dietary requirements such as low cholesterol, vegan or sugar free dishes, there’s plenty of choice for how to present the feast. Let’s delve into the pros and cons of three options: sit down meals, family style settings and buffets.
We are half way through January, the holiday festivities are a distant memory, we have ‘new home’ January sale shopped like our lives depended on it and I am soo over this cold dreary weather (we didn’t even get snow!). The only thing left to do is start dreaming of sun streaming, dew laden, beautiful spring days to get us through the coming weeks. To help us along we have our second guest post of the year (aren’t we lucky!) by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors who has written about 5 different ways to plan you wedding for Spring! Have a gander here…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Huge apologies for it being 9 days late! But hey ho, we’re still in the ‘New Year’ and we are certainly still wishing you are all happy! We have slightly been off the grid over the holidays, what with traipsing around the country visiting wonderful family and friends. The other thing that has kept us busy (as well as continued planning of our fantastic 2017 weddings – more to follow on this), is that Matthew, Winston and I have just moved house (exciting!) and dealt with all the craziness which comes with it! But we are settled in now and love it!
Right, I think that’s enough of a catch up and now to the important bit! Which is our first guest post of 2017, coming from the lovely people over at lunss.com, a site dedicated to custom made dresses online. They’re here to talk about subtle but important wedding day tips, have a good read and pop over to their site to see what they’re all about…
Yes it is Friday again and with it we are crawling ever closer to Christmas! We are in full festive swing, with the Matthew Oliver studio sparkling with Christmas lights and Winston lounging around the office in his Christmas jumper (pictures to follow!). Now this week we are very lucky to have a guest blog by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors, who has written a fantastic article titled ‘How to Organise the Perfect Winter Wonderland Themed Wedding’. Have a read through the tips and ideas of this insightful blogger, it’s worth it! Article after the jump:

I’m having a lovely day today, though I’m not looking forward to body pump tonight, I think I may die!
Anyway, we have a very special post today created by the fantastic Karen Ellis, who is a lifestyle writer based out of the United States. She has an upcoming blog but you can connect with her now through Google+.
Hola my lovely Moers!
Anyone getting married this weekend? The weather looks crisp and fresh, which I love for this time of year?
For all future brides, how far along are you with the planning? Have your brought your dress, what’s the style and have you got accessories to compliment? Which brings me on to this post!
Hello my lovely Moers!
So, the wedding is just around the corner, you’ve chosen the rings, the juice diet paid off at the final dress fitting (phew!), but you’re still no closer to finalising plans for your hen do? Worse still, your partners friends’ idea of a cracking stag do is a few swift ones down the pub, before a boozy bar crawl, ending with a greasy kebab and stumbling up the stairs to fall face first into bed?
