How the summer season is flying by! For the Matthew Oliver team it has been a literal case of ‘here, there, everywhere!’ …and we have loved every minute of it! As always if you want to catch up on what we’ve been up to, take a look at my or the Matthew Oliver Weddings Instagram. Ooh we love a good Insta story!
We are half way through January, the holiday festivities are a distant memory, we have ‘new home’ January sale shopped like our lives depended on it and I am soo over this cold dreary weather (we didn’t even get snow!). The only thing left to do is start dreaming of sun streaming, dew laden, beautiful spring days to get us through the coming weeks. To help us along we have our second guest post of the year (aren’t we lucky!) by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors who has written about 5 different ways to plan you wedding for Spring! Have a gander here…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Huge apologies for it being 9 days late! But hey ho, we’re still in the ‘New Year’ and we are certainly still wishing you are all happy! We have slightly been off the grid over the holidays, what with traipsing around the country visiting wonderful family and friends. The other thing that has kept us busy (as well as continued planning of our fantastic 2017 weddings – more to follow on this), is that Matthew, Winston and I have just moved house (exciting!) and dealt with all the craziness which comes with it! But we are settled in now and love it!
Right, I think that’s enough of a catch up and now to the important bit! Which is our first guest post of 2017, coming from the lovely people over at lunss.com, a site dedicated to custom made dresses online. They’re here to talk about subtle but important wedding day tips, have a good read and pop over to their site to see what they’re all about…
Yes it is Friday again and with it we are crawling ever closer to Christmas! We are in full festive swing, with the Matthew Oliver studio sparkling with Christmas lights and Winston lounging around the office in his Christmas jumper (pictures to follow!). Now this week we are very lucky to have a guest blog by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors, who has written a fantastic article titled ‘How to Organise the Perfect Winter Wonderland Themed Wedding’. Have a read through the tips and ideas of this insightful blogger, it’s worth it! Article after the jump:
It’s blog Friday! (actually I just made that up… It’s Friday and I’m writing a blog..) Anyway… It’s Friday! Hurrah! I hope the week has gone well for everyone? Winston and I have been forced to listen to Matthew attempting to sing along to Alicia Key’s new album (please feel sorry for us), whilst we’ve been finalising our new website, in preparation of it’s launch!
This week I wanted to speak to just the brides out there about Bride attire, and attempt to pass on some advice that I’ve picked up over the last couple of years. I know what you’re thinking, ‘wow you must look awesome in a wedding dress!’ And you are of course right! 😉 Anyway here are a few points to keep at the back of your mind when looking for your wonderful wedding day attire;
It’s nearing the end of the week, hurrah!
Things have been a little crazy of late, as I’m sure you are well aware, due to the launch of our new site! I’m hoping everyone has had a chance to take a look around it! (It’s worth it I promise!). The rest of the country, especially those in the retail sector, tend to have a bit of a crazy time around now as well. The reason of course being Black Friday and Cyber Monday! (I hear there are also talks of a Sofa Sunday(!?!), but I’m not convinced!).
Apologies it has been a little while, as always we have been all over the place, which can leave little time for writing. Though saying that I have found a little time on our flight back from the stunning Amalfi coast, where we have been doing a little recce for one of next years weddings, and let me just say, it is BEAUTIFUL! But enough about that and a little more about today’s blog, which is…
Sorry it’s been a while! I hope you are all well? We’ve had quite the busy summer wedding season, which has been amazing! You’ve probably seen from the numerous Insta photos, but it truly has been diverse, both in location (we’ve been flying all over the place!) and style (we never like to do the same thing twice!). You’ll see more pictures on what we’ve been up to in the coming months, once the the wonderful photographers and videographers do their magic!
I hope all is well with everyone?!
During our crazy but wonderfully successful July of weddings, i’m sure you all saw but we did a particularly beautiful wedding at the fantastic Trinity Buoy Wharf in London. It was a long exciting day with many elements and cultural traditions,many of which were new to me, but were all befitting of the theme of the day and designed to bring two families together. This got me thinking about wedding traditions in general and more specifically the tradition of speeches.
Here at Matthew Oliver we are gearing up for an incredibly busy month of Weddings from London to Loire (Valley) and a few places in between! But before we jump into full on planner mode I wanted to tick this off my ‘to-do’ list and write a few (hundred) words to you lovely people!
I hope the week is going well for most? Me? I’m Great! This week I have one question… How do you entertain those guests with a limited attention span?! Well there are a few options out there, some of which we’ve planned as part of a Matthew Oliver Wedding and others I’ve just happened across and thought… ‘LOVE IT!’.
