HiHi!
I think it’s fair to say it is cold… but I don’t mind as there is snow! Not a great thing for most, but since the commute to our office consists of a zebra crossing, we can’t complain AND we get to have fun in the snow, the Boss himself (Winston) has even made it a mandatory part of the working day! Can’t argue with that! Now today’s blog may be a bit at odds with the weather outside, but what better time to talk and dream about hot summer weddings, than when it’s super cold! Plus we have the very talented Abigail Golder, a guest blogger and budding journalist, giving us some fantastic tips for a summer wedding this year! There’s some great ideas in here so pay close attention!
HelloHello!
The week is at it’s end and for most that’s a great thing, however here at Matthew Oliver we love all things wedding, so we’ve decided to spend our Saturday visiting a stunning venue that we get the pleasure of working with this year, that venue being Aynhoe Park. Can’t wait! Though first I get the honour of introducing Cassie Steele, a freelancer who couldn’t wait to share her tips on ‘Planning the best outdoor wedding’; as lovers of planning outdoor weddings we jumped right on board with her top tips and couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Check them out below;
Hi Hi!
How are we all? …Cold? Me too… but ‘hey’ it’s winter, what can you do?! I know! Ignore the weather and talk about weddings! Something we don’t usually have much time to write about here at Matthew Oliver Weddings, but I’m alone in the office (singing to musicals) and thought I would write a quick blog (check out the multi-tasking!). I’ve seen a few people writing about wedding trends for 2018 and so I thought I would (as Matthew calls it) ‘put in my 5 eggs…’ :/
HelloHelloHello!
How the summer season is flying by! For the Matthew Oliver team it has been a literal case of ‘here, there, everywhere!’ …and we have loved every minute of it! As always if you want to catch up on what we’ve been up to, take a look at my or the Matthew Oliver Weddings Instagram. Ooh we love a good Insta story!
Bonjour!
Coming to you all the way from sunny France, sat typing in the beatuiful Château de Grand Lucé, I wanted to share with you a great guest post from the wonderful Elena Tahora, a passionate fashion blogger and an avid traveller, writing all about some of the more unusual wedding traditions from around the world! Also a writer for the excellent American Tungsten have a look at what Elena has to say…
Hello!
It’s Friday afternoon and as usual I have taken a little time off from the planning to have a drink (prosecco of course!) and do a little writing for you lovely people! It’s been a busy day in the Matthew Oliver Studio today, Matthew, Millie, Ceri and myself all here busy working away; with Winston making sure we keep on track! Don’t let his gorgeous face fool you, he’s a strict boss!
So thinking of what to write about, my eye fell to a picture of some beautiful lounge furniture we had at our Mandarin Oriental wedding last year and I thought, perfect! Let’s talk about why you should think about lounge furniture at your wedding, so here goes…
HelloHello!
How is everyone’s bank holiday Monday going? A chilled out end to a pretty epic weekend I hope! Me? I’m sat in our cosy little office in Bradford on Avon, watching the weather through the window trying to decide what season it is, and doing one of my favourite things, writing! What with all the planning of amazing weddings and whatnot, I don’t get to sit down and write as much as I would like. So I thought ‘hey’, with the sun shining through the falling rain, I would take my bank holiday Monday and write to you all about a little photoshoot Matthew, Winston and I did a couple of months back, with the wonderful Julie Michaelsen.
It’s Monday!
The day has arrived again, but not to worry it is almost over and soon you will be home with a cup of tea and Netflix, hurrah!
Just wanted to write a quick post about a recent guide we have been featured in called ‘How to choose your wedding suppliers’, written by the lovely Sheldon over at Almost October. It’s a guide into wedding suppliers from his unique position as a Photographer and serves to answer just some of the questions couples wish to know! Hopefully we played our part well and lived up to his expectations!
Well make up your own mind and take a read here (it’s worth it I promise!):

Now go have an amazing week and we’ll speak soon!

Hello there!
These past 2 weeks have really flown right by and now here we are almost halfway into the month of April! I have of course been learning how to do lots of things and have now worked on two proposals for new clients. To create these design boards I first had to go over each brief to grasp what style of wedding and details they are looking for.
Happy Friday!
My Friday has gotten off to a pretty slow start to be honest, as in getting out of bed this morning was a monumental failure on my part, it just didn’t happen! Though I eventually wandered over to the office to be greeted by a completely justified look from Matthew which read ‘About time you lazy sod!’, oh dear! But we’re happy in the Matthew Oliver office today, I got lots of sleep (woop!), Matthew is listening to Red Hot Chilli Peppers (true 90’s boy) and Winston is having fun playing with his new teddy, a Rabbit affectionately called Boris!
Yes I know, it’s been to too long! Though I’m here now, sat on a plane after a fairly hectic week in Italy… which is exactly what I want to tell you all about! The Matthew Oliver team have been in full professional(ish) working swing in both Venice and Tuscany this week. I’m sure I won’t need to tell you what we’ve been up to, it’s no secret Matthew and I are ‘trigger happy’ when it comes to photos and the inevitable social media-ing that comes with it! Alas please indulge me as I run through the highlights, if only to get them straight in my head!
