When you’re executing your meticulous plans for the perfect wedding day, as a perfectionist (which most people become when they’re about to tie the knot), you have to think of absolutely everything. First of all, there is the picking of the perfect venue that coincides with your personal style, the décor and ambience, perfectly coordinated outfits for the bride and groom, not to mention the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Then, there are the logistical matters – what kind of wedding feast you want, sit-down, buffet, family style? On top of that, there is the scouting for the perfect band that will have everyone on their feet, as well as the search for the best photographer who will catch the beautiful and candid moments. Finally, there is the devil in the details – the little details themselves.
If you’ve been to a lot of weddings, then you know they can get a little wild. From décor and food to the wedding dress itself, often things are very big, flashy, and over-the-top, and a lot of couples delight in that kind of dramatic flair. And you know what? That’s great. It’s your wedding, and if you want it to be a grand spectacle, that’s something that should only be encouraged. However, with the recent trends, a lot of brides are actually looking for something simpler. Minimalism is becoming popular again, and if you’re not the kind of couple who likes to make a big fuss, it could be just the kind of direction to take for your big day.
A destination wedding planner works with you to make your international wedding into more than just an unattainable pipe dream; our passion is to make your day unforgettable and stress-free.
Preparing for your wedding day can feel overwhelming. There’s so much to do and plan that after a while it all becomes a bit of a blur. When you feel like it’s all getting too much, your bridesmaids are the ones who lift your spirit and keep you going.
Through the rough and the smooth, you know you can count on your bridesmaids – even during your inevitable breakdowns! With all their love and support, how can you possibly thank them enough?
Well, here are some thoughtful gift ideas for your bridesmaids to show them just how much you care:
Your wedding day is likely something you’ve dreamt about since you were little. That said, you probably didn’t consider the amount of hard work and planning that goes into wedding planning. With this hard work, often comes a stressful few months and even a stressful morning on the day-of. When it comes to the details, it’s important to plan everything ahead of time, whether it’s something as important as your ceremony setup or as simple as setting your alarm for the morning-of. Check out our tips to help you relax and know what to do the morning of your wedding.

How are you all? I hope you’re all well and having a brilliant start to your week?
Happy Friday all! That is unless you are in the UAE… then happy mid-weekend!

I think it’s fair to say it is cold… but I don’t mind as there is snow! Not a great thing for most, but since the commute to our office consists of a zebra crossing, we can’t complain AND we get to have fun in the snow, the Boss himself (Winston) has even made it a mandatory part of the working day! Can’t argue with that! Now today’s blog may be a bit at odds with the weather outside, but what better time to talk and dream about hot summer weddings, than when it’s super cold! Plus we have the very talented Abigail Golder, a guest blogger and budding journalist, giving us some fantastic tips for a summer wedding this year! There’s some great ideas in here so pay close attention!
The week is at it’s end and for most that’s a great thing, however here at Matthew Oliver we love all things wedding, so we’ve decided to spend our Saturday visiting a stunning venue that we get the pleasure of working with this year, that venue being Aynhoe Park. Can’t wait! Though first I get the honour of introducing Cassie Steele, a freelancer who couldn’t wait to share her tips on ‘Planning the best outdoor wedding’; as lovers of planning outdoor weddings we jumped right on board with her top tips and couldn’t have said it better ourselves! Check them out below;
How are we all? …Cold? Me too… but ‘hey’ it’s winter, what can you do?! I know! Ignore the weather and talk about weddings! Something we don’t usually have much time to write about here at Matthew Oliver Weddings, but I’m alone in the office (singing to musicals) and thought I would write a quick blog (check out the multi-tasking!). I’ve seen a few people writing about wedding trends for 2018 and so I thought I would (as Matthew calls it) ‘put in my 5 eggs…’ :/
The New Year is very much now amongst us and mulled wine is but a distant memory, but don’t fret(!), we’re here with a few helping hands to bring you details on all things wedding, hurrah! Today the lovely Rebecca Fitzgerald has given some insightful tips on 5 Fun Wedding Reception Ideas for 2018…
Getting married is a wonderful experience, but the big wedding meal you’ll be having with all your special guests is the most important part, right? Right. Whether you’re catering for picky eaters or those with dietary requirements such as low cholesterol, vegan or sugar free dishes, there’s plenty of choice for how to present the feast. Let’s delve into the pros and cons of three options: sit down meals, family style settings and buffets.
How the summer season is flying by! For the Matthew Oliver team it has been a literal case of ‘here, there, everywhere!’ …and we have loved every minute of it! As always if you want to catch up on what we’ve been up to, take a look at my or the Matthew Oliver Weddings Instagram. Ooh we love a good Insta story!
Coming to you all the way from sunny France, sat typing in the beatuiful Château de Grand Lucé, I wanted to share with you a great guest post from the wonderful Elena Tahora, a passionate fashion blogger and an avid traveller, writing all about some of the more unusual wedding traditions from around the world! Also a writer for the excellent American Tungsten have a look at what Elena has to say…
As international wedding planners we have been privileged enough to have been involved in many beautiful and diverse weddings around the world. That’s why we decided to create this infographic highlighting what we believe are some hidden gems for getting married abroad.
Check out The Top 10 Truly Unique Wedding Locations infographic below and feel free to feature it on your site using the embed code below the image! All you need to do is reference www.matthewoliverweddings.com once you’ve done this!
It’s Friday afternoon and as usual I have taken a little time off from the planning to have a drink (prosecco of course!) and do a little writing for you lovely people! It’s been a busy day in the Matthew Oliver Studio today, Matthew, Millie, Ceri and myself all here busy working away; with Winston making sure we keep on track! Don’t let his gorgeous face fool you, he’s a strict boss!
So thinking of what to write about, my eye fell to a picture of some beautiful lounge furniture we had at our Mandarin Oriental wedding last year and I thought, perfect! Let’s talk about why you should think about lounge furniture at your wedding, so here goes…
How is everyone’s bank holiday Monday going? A chilled out end to a pretty epic weekend I hope! Me? I’m sat in our cosy little office in Bradford on Avon, watching the weather through the window trying to decide what season it is, and doing one of my favourite things, writing! What with all the planning of amazing weddings and whatnot, I don’t get to sit down and write as much as I would like. So I thought ‘hey’, with the sun shining through the falling rain, I would take my bank holiday Monday and write to you all about a little photoshoot Matthew, Winston and I did a couple of months back, with the wonderful Julie Michaelsen.
The day has arrived again, but not to worry it is almost over and soon you will be home with a cup of tea and Netflix, hurrah!
Just wanted to write a quick post about a recent guide we have been featured in called ‘How to choose your wedding suppliers’, written by the lovely Sheldon over at Almost October. It’s a guide into wedding suppliers from his unique position as a Photographer and serves to answer just some of the questions couples wish to know! Hopefully we played our part well and lived up to his expectations!
Well make up your own mind and take a read here (it’s worth it I promise!):

Now go have an amazing week and we’ll speak soon!
These past 2 weeks have really flown right by and now here we are almost halfway into the month of April! I have of course been learning how to do lots of things and have now worked on two proposals for new clients. To create these design boards I first had to go over each brief to grasp what style of wedding and details they are looking for.
We love planning destination weddings and we know there is a lot that goes into making it unique for you and your partner. Although you are planning an international wedding and there are a lot of similarities to planning a wedding in your home country, there are also some significant differences that you need to bear in mind. Here at Matthew Oliver we have therefore put together an infographic to remind you of all the questions you should be asking, to make sure you really get the wedding you always wanted!
I’m Ceri which is pronounced as Kerri. I was born and raised in Barbados and sadly never appreciated the beautiful beaches and lovely sunny weather until moving to UK just over a year ago. At the moment I am still adapting to British culture and learning new things each week with the help of my fabulous uni friends. Today is my first day in the office and of course I woke up excited and nervous. I was greeted in Bradford-on-Avon by a breathtaking view while crossing the bridge on my short walk to the office and then the wonderful Winston as soon as I came through the door. I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome than snuggles, rubs and licks.
My Friday has gotten off to a pretty slow start to be honest, as in getting out of bed this morning was a monumental failure on my part, it just didn’t happen! Though I eventually wandered over to the office to be greeted by a completely justified look from Matthew which read ‘About time you lazy sod!’, oh dear! But we’re happy in the Matthew Oliver office today, I got lots of sleep (woop!), Matthew is listening to Red Hot Chilli Peppers (true 90’s boy) and Winston is having fun playing with his new teddy, a Rabbit affectionately called Boris!
Yes I know, it’s been to too long! Though I’m here now, sat on a plane after a fairly hectic week in Italy… which is exactly what I want to tell you all about! The Matthew Oliver team have been in full professional(ish) working swing in both Venice and Tuscany this week. I’m sure I won’t need to tell you what we’ve been up to, it’s no secret Matthew and I are ‘trigger happy’ when it comes to photos and the inevitable social media-ing that comes with it! Alas please indulge me as I run through the highlights, if only to get them straight in my head!
We are half way through January, the holiday festivities are a distant memory, we have ‘new home’ January sale shopped like our lives depended on it and I am soo over this cold dreary weather (we didn’t even get snow!). The only thing left to do is start dreaming of sun streaming, dew laden, beautiful spring days to get us through the coming weeks. To help us along we have our second guest post of the year (aren’t we lucky!) by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors who has written about 5 different ways to plan you wedding for Spring! Have a gander here…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Huge apologies for it being 9 days late! But hey ho, we’re still in the ‘New Year’ and we are certainly still wishing you are all happy! We have slightly been off the grid over the holidays, what with traipsing around the country visiting wonderful family and friends. The other thing that has kept us busy (as well as continued planning of our fantastic 2017 weddings – more to follow on this), is that Matthew, Winston and I have just moved house (exciting!) and dealt with all the craziness which comes with it! But we are settled in now and love it!
Right, I think that’s enough of a catch up and now to the important bit! Which is our first guest post of 2017, coming from the lovely people over at lunss.com, a site dedicated to custom made dresses online. They’re here to talk about subtle but important wedding day tips, have a good read and pop over to their site to see what they’re all about…
Yes it is Friday again and with it we are crawling ever closer to Christmas! We are in full festive swing, with the Matthew Oliver studio sparkling with Christmas lights and Winston lounging around the office in his Christmas jumper (pictures to follow!). Now this week we are very lucky to have a guest blog by the wonderful Isabella Foreman from Smart Photo Editors, who has written a fantastic article titled ‘How to Organise the Perfect Winter Wonderland Themed Wedding’. Have a read through the tips and ideas of this insightful blogger, it’s worth it! Article after the jump:
It’s blog Friday! (actually I just made that up… It’s Friday and I’m writing a blog..) Anyway… It’s Friday! Hurrah! I hope the week has gone well for everyone? Winston and I have been forced to listen to Matthew attempting to sing along to Alicia Key’s new album (please feel sorry for us), whilst we’ve been finalising our new website, in preparation of it’s launch!
This week I wanted to speak to just the brides out there about Bride attire, and attempt to pass on some advice that I’ve picked up over the last couple of years. I know what you’re thinking, ‘wow you must look awesome in a wedding dress!’ And you are of course right! 😉 Anyway here are a few points to keep at the back of your mind when looking for your wonderful wedding day attire;
It’s nearing the end of the week, hurrah!
Things have been a little crazy of late, as I’m sure you are well aware, due to the launch of our new site! I’m hoping everyone has had a chance to take a look around it! (It’s worth it I promise!). The rest of the country, especially those in the retail sector, tend to have a bit of a crazy time around now as well. The reason of course being Black Friday and Cyber Monday! (I hear there are also talks of a Sofa Sunday(!?!), but I’m not convinced!).
Apologies it has been a little while, as always we have been all over the place, which can leave little time for writing. Though saying that I have found a little time on our flight back from the stunning Amalfi coast, where we have been doing a little recce for one of next years weddings, and let me just say, it is BEAUTIFUL! But enough about that and a little more about today’s blog, which is…
Sorry it’s been a while! I hope you are all well? We’ve had quite the busy summer wedding season, which has been amazing! You’ve probably seen from the numerous Insta photos, but it truly has been diverse, both in location (we’ve been flying all over the place!) and style (we never like to do the same thing twice!). You’ll see more pictures on what we’ve been up to in the coming months, once the the wonderful photographers and videographers do their magic!
I hope all is well with everyone?!
During our crazy but wonderfully successful July of weddings, i’m sure you all saw but we did a particularly beautiful wedding at the fantastic Trinity Buoy Wharf in London. It was a long exciting day with many elements and cultural traditions, many of which were new to me, but were all befitting of the theme of the day and designed to bring two families together. This got me thinking about wedding traditions in general and more specifically the tradition of speeches.
Here at Matthew Oliver we are gearing up for an incredibly busy month of Weddings from London to Loire (Valley) and a few places in between! But before we jump into full on planner mode I wanted to tick this off my ‘to-do’ list and write a few (hundred) words to you lovely people!
Bonjour lovely people, how are you all doing? Any lovely weddings happening this weekend? Do tell us what your plans are?
I’m sure most of you can relate to my #fridayfeeling today – ‘Your Speed Doesn’t Matter, Forward is Forward!’
I hope the week is going well for most? Me? I’m Great! This week I have one question… How do you entertain those guests with a limited attention span?! Well there are a few options out there, some of which we’ve planned as part of a Matthew Oliver Wedding and others I’ve just happened across and thought… ‘LOVE IT!’.
So you’ve gone through the pains of dwindling your mammoth guest list down to those special people you wish to share your wonderful day with, what comes next? The waiting… the tense few months when you get to find out who can make it, to witness the coming together of you and your loved one, followed by copious amounts of food, bubbles and dancing of course! Though what can be done to make this bit of the planning a little smoother? There are always going to be those guests that just don’t RSVP, most likely due to the fact that they have seen you and said ‘yeah I’m coming’, thinking that is the same as RSVPing …it’s not. Though in all honesty I have been guilty of that thinking once or twice! Oops!
Yes, it has finally happened… Matthew and I are officially working together and so far it is going great! And no it isn’t just because Matthew is in London today and so it is just myself and Winston in the studio! To be honest with you, my first day was actually yesterday (shh!), but I was so busy with the first day craziness I forgot to tell you all! Sorry about that! So here I am writing to you now about how it’s all going…
Bonjour lovely, lovely people!
How are you? Anyone getting married this weekend or going to a wedding? Do share the details?
I just wanted to share some little advice with you for your menu and name cards! Why not incorporate both the menu and name card together, so the name of your guest is on the menu? Each guest will have a personalised menu that can fit nicely on the place setting? This of course looks very stylish and will save money if you’re purchasing both anyway.
Bonjour beauty’s and handsome’s!
How have you all been?
Finally the sun has come back out in the UK! It definitely causes for celebration, especially as in the last month we’ve witnessed every season!
I’ve been meaning to write to you all and say how delighted I am to be featured on my newest and most favourite blog/directory at the moment ‘A Well Travelled Bride’.
Bonjour lovely people how are you? I hope you’re having a lovely day?
Happy Easter holidays – let’s hope the weather stays like this for us!
What are all your plans this weekend? Easter Egg hunt? Chocolate Egg eating competition?? Mahusive Roast??? …I’m hoping for all of the above!
I’m really happy that I was featured recently on Crème de la Bride – the UK’s biggest wedding website for coloured couples.
Happy Monday my lovelies, how are you? Did you have a great weekend? What lovely weather we’re having in the UK right now! It’s wonderful!
I hope all your wedding plans are coming along nicely, I would love to hear about them?
Last week I was asked to talk on LBC Radio about men planning weddings and what I see being a wedding planner in the industry.
Bonjour, bonjour how are we all today?
Happy Monday everyone – I hope you all had a lovely weekend?
I wanted to share my most recent wedding with you all which took place at the Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park back in January. The wedding was for Omani royalty and it was a joy working with them throughout the 18 months.
What a lovely day it is – I really can’t wait to go our for a run later this afternoon!
Happy Friday and that only means another #fridayfeeling on how I feel today!
Today as the sun is shining, it’s December, it’s nearly Christmas, everyone is happy, only 4 emails in my inbox – I’m in a great mood. Well actually 5 emails now in the time it’s taken me to write this.
Hola my loves! How are you?
Ehhhhh it’s horrendous out there – high winds and that annoying drizzle! Poor Winst he only got a short walk, however today is like a rest for us as we’ve been on 3 5 mile runs already this week – so my excuse is that our joints are recovering :-).
Bonjour, bonjour to you all.
I hope you’re having a wonderful week and getting excited about Christmas? Just over 3 weeks away and we’ll be sat around a Christmas tree drinking champers and opening pressies from loved ones – and not forgetting all those beautiful smells coming from the kitchen – AAARRRGGGHHH I CAN’T WAIT!! Today I’m wearing my first Christmas jumper of the year to get into the festive spirit :-).
Anyway a few weeks ago I was on the radio – yeah I know again!
Bonjour, bonjour my lovelies.
How are you today? Excited about the weekend?
It’s Friday – YAYYYYYYY!
I know it’s a day late, but I did not want to let you down by not putting anything up today :-).
Every Thursday – this case Friday I’ll upload an image from one of my past weddings as a showcase of what I’ve done and how I’ve grown as a planner. The image could be from the same year, or even 8 years ago from when I started out as a wedding planner!
Hello, hello, my lovely people.
How are you? I’m loving these crisp winter days, it gets me all excited as Christmas is only around the corner! Some of you (like me) are probably like aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh where others have brought, wrapped and made all the arrangements for around Christmas – you saints!
Hello my lovelies! How are you?
I realise the last time I blogged was the 22nd September :-/! I actually think this is the longest I’ve gone without blogging – so huge apologies my friends!
Anyway, if you follow me on Instagram or other social media channels you would see that I do a #fridayfeeling every Friday? This is based on how I feel, what I’m doing or inspiring quotes from people, fictional characters, or my all time idles.
I hope everyone’s week is going great!?
Matthew wanted me to write another little blog for you all and so whilst racking my brain on what I wanted to write I thought, ‘what do I like?’ and of course it hit me… free things! Which of course led me onto wedding favours.
Bonjour my lovely people how are you? I hope you’re well and all your wedding plans are taking shape?
Hello my lovelies!
How are you? It’s been awhile and I’m sorry about my absence, it’s been a very exciting year for me and soon when the season is over I’ll catch up with you on everything I’ve been up too! I promise ;-).
Anyway on a side note I was on national radio a few weeks ago talking to Georgey Spanswick about ‘Can Men Plan Weddings’ and it was broadcasted on all BBC local radio stations, which is a great opportunity.
I discuss my experiences and how I ended up as a wedding planner and what it’s like been a male wedding planner in this industry.
Listen to it here…
Hello my lovely, lovely people how are we all?
Last week I was on BBC Radio Wiltshire talking about how weddings have changed over the years and how difficult it is for not just the bride and groom, but also the parents and older generation because traditions have changed.
Weddings have evolved so it’s understandably confusing for the older generations when the order of the wedding is changed around or something surprising happens.
Listen to what I had to say on the player below when talking with presenter Simeon Courtie…
Bonjourno my lovely people! How are you? Again I apologise for the slow updates, but if you’ve been following me on instagram or facebook you would’ve seen I’ve recently been to Ravello in Italy? I totally fell in love with the place, and recommend it for any romantic out there. It’s one of the most romantic and beautiful places I’ve ever visited!
Anyway, I’ve been meaning to tell you about the incredible shoot I put together in April (seems such a long time ago now). I named it History Made because I feel we created History ;-).
Bonjour comment allez-vous?
Not sure why I decided to say hello how are you in French, but never mind! It must be because it’s Friday whoop whoop and it’s my first weekend off in such a long time! I actually don’t know when the last time was. I’m hoping to have a trip to Ikea so I can get new office furniture :-).
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I advertised in Vow magazine recently; it’s the first time I’ve actually paid to be advertised in a magazine, as I’ve been very lucky with writing certain pieces and having interviews that I’ve never had to do this before.
How are you all? I hope you’re enjoying this lovely weather?
I’ve been looking at recent trends and it seems that over the last couple of years there has been a growing trend to move away from the traditional wedding gift registry, couples no longer scour the John Lewis website for things they may or may not need. Only to then have to squeeze them into their house, dreams of becoming the next culinary master with fantastical appliances, which you optimistically added to your list, fading into the dust covered abyss of a corner cupboard…
Hey, hey, hey! How have you been? I know it’s been a long time and I’m sorry to not keep you up to date with everything, it’s been a crazy couple of months and if you’re following me on social then you would know what I’ve been doing!
Anyway, I’ve got an exclusive today straight from New York’s Fashion Week showcasing the up and coming dress trends for this year and next! Many of these photos were given to me courtesy of Weddington Way, an online boutique that offers a range of bridesmaid dresses sure to match any one of these gorgeous looks!
Hello my lovely people! How are you today?
I’m sure you all had a great bank holiday weekend? Like who wouldn’t enjoy an extra day off; unless you were working of course!
Anyway, I just wanted to show you that I’ve been featured twice over the month on Ready or Knot wedding blog giving wedding advice on traditions and also on how to trim your guest list!
If you don’t know already I’m a regular guest contributor and create articles for them to share with their readers and audience.
Here are the features…
It’s Friday whooooppppeeee and it’s a bank holiday, yayyyyyyyyy!!!
Sorry about my outburst, I’m just happy as we’re going up to North this evening to spend it with my family, which should be nice! It’s just getting on and off the M6! Please if you read this and you want to drive on the M6 tonight, I advise not too ;-)!
Following on from our new category of posts which started last week, titled ‘Beautiful Britten – Wedding Accessories’ today we bring you their Veils, and my golly they are just stunning!
So how are you all my lovelies? Did you have a great weekend?
Can you believe it’s been another month or so since I did a 5 Reasons Video? So, so, so sorry! But rest assured as I’ve created a new one for you! YAY!
Today’s 5 Reasons… Video is all about your last crazy month and the chaos that will happen!
Bonjouro my lovely people, how the devil?
What a glorious day? Rumour has it that this weather is with us for 3 months! I’m not going to jinx it, so I’ll be quiet!
Pretty much for the last few hours, guess what I’ve been doing? No not planning beautiful weddings, but preparing my accounts! Oh the joy!
Anyway, I have a special little treat for you today, and a new series of posts!
My wonderful and amazing sister from Britten and The Wedding Garter Co (talented I know) has just released a whole new and amazing collection and each week I’ll be showcasing each new product range under the title ‘Beautiful Britten – Wedding Accessories‘! There will be 9 posts in total, so it’s going to be a wonderful treat for you all!
Hello, hello, hello!
How are you? Can you believe this amazing weather? Though I secretly wished it would pour down on everyone outside, I’m just incredibly jealous and wish I was out there! How nasty am I, cursing the rains? If it happens please don’t come knocking at my door with your torches and pitchforks!
Anyway, the monthly hidden gems around the world are back and this month we go to Morocco! For those who haven’t seen any of the hidden gems before, they are a collection of articles/blog posts talking about beautiful wedding venues around the world, that are of the beaten track and maybe missed when researching a particular location! We’ve taken you to Italy, Cyprus, Paris and Oman, but now we travel to Morocco, to the city of Rabat and talk about a venue I’ve actually been to and had the pleasure staying in for a few nights.
I hope everyone has had a super chocolatey fueled Easter!
Here at MO we had some amazing friends come to visit, including a lovely couple who are engaged (congrats again btw!). Being around them, with the bride-to-be showing photos to us all (just out of her fiances eye-shot) got me thinking, why do brides get to surprise the groom with a stunning dress and some of that mystery isn’t reserved for the grooms suit??
Bonjour my lovely MOers how the devil and what’s new in the hood?
Please let me know how everything is going with your wedding plans? What are you finding difficult at the moment, what’s your biggest worry?
So following on from my last design board, titled Chili Love, I now bring you the next in the series called Wild Love! This is a design board for one of my clients getting married in a marquee later this year in a really special place! I’ve tweaked it a bit for you guys so the actual design for my clients is a little bit different.
The wonderful Matthew Oliver has asked me to write a little blog post for him, and since I am the ‘car buff’ in our relationship and the fact he hasn’t done a blog on wedding transport since the start of 2013!!! I thought I would give it a crack!
Which I hope is your reaction that the #5reasonsvideos are back?! No, well never mind!
As you all should know I love bow ties, I have like 20 and go through fazes of wearing each depending how I feel on that particular day! The reason I love wearing them is that they’re cooler than ties, actually I hate ties, maybe because I was forced to wear them when I was growing up, or maybe it’s because they’re extremely corporate! Though my feelings for bow ties are completely different, when I wear them I feel like a super hero as well as a hipster!
So I’ve been meaning to write a few blogs this week, but it’s just been really crazy! I think it’s to do with the month, I don’t know why, but it’s my theory. Although I have been enjoying this lovely weather, so it does have it’s good points I guess :-).
How are you all? What is new and how are all your wedding plans coming along?
Hello Moers, how are you? Have you been having a great week?
I’m feeling revived and fresh lately as I’ve been having a crazy amount of green/super healthy smoothies, and eating a lot better which has really helped me focus more than normally! Check out my instagram to see the smoothies I’ve made!
How were your weekends? Did anyone get married? If so how did it go and are you floating in a daze of how fantastic it all was?
So after my last post, bragging that I was featured in the incredible Vow Magazine last week on a 3 page interview, I also was featured on the Ready or Know blog! A blog dedicated to UK weddings, showcasing some great tips and real life weddings from around the UK. I’m their wedding planner expert writing an article once a month to give readers some informative knowledge on particular subjects. The latest one I created was ‘How to make your wedding unique’, quite a vast question but I followed suit that all weddings are unique in their own way, read it here…
Bonjour (Quite appropriate for this post!)
How have you all been? The sun is shining today which makes me incredibly happy, especially after a rubbish day yesterday from been on the phone to various insurance companies because some how my phone got lost in transit on the way to be fixed! Who would steal a broken unusable phone beats me! Anyway enough of this negativity and onto the positivity…
How are we all doing today? Anything exciting happening? So I’m all achy after the crazy body pump session I attended on Tuesday, I went a bit overboard and now I’m suffering for it!
Lucky for you I have a lovely introductory post for you today!
How are you on this fine, fine day?
I’m having a lovely day today, though I’m not looking forward to body pump tonight, I think I may die!
Anyway, we have a very special post today created by the fantastic Karen Ellis, who is a lifestyle writer based out of the United States. She has an upcoming blog but you can connect with her now through Google+.
Márhaba, ahlan (hello in Omani)
If you didn’t know I recently went to Oman for a reccy for a wedding I’m doing over there in December! It’s such an amazing place and I fell in love with it! I know what does this have to do with Cyprus, well I fell in love with Cyprus when I lived and worked over there for 4 years :-).
Hello my lovelies, how are you all today?
So as I’m such a crazy head when it comes to chairs for weddings I decided to write this blog post to show you what is available, and what you can have!
As you know I hate CHAIR COVERS!! I think they ruin the beauty of a wedding, and make the room/rooms look ugly with to much white! White linen to me is to harsh, especially if you’re using soft tones for your wedding colours! Chair covers have had their time, and I really don’t agree you should hire them, yes hire them! Most venues say you have to hire them as they don’t come with the package or price! Why would you want to pay for chair covers?
Anway, that is my rant over!
Hola my lovely Moers!
Anyone getting married this weekend? The weather looks crisp and fresh, which I love for this time of year?
For all future brides, how far along are you with the planning? Have your brought your dress, what’s the style and have you got accessories to compliment? Which brings me on to this post!
Hello my lovely Moers how are you today? I’m feeling exceptionally cold today, and dreading the thought of taking the lil’ man out for his walk later, but I know I have to do it. The thought is already giving me the chill’s!
So recently I had a couple enquire about my services and they’re looking to add chilli’s to their wedding design, as they have a massive love for them! They also want to make the wedding country inspired as their looking to stay in a country house for a long weekend!
Hello my lovelies!
Have you all had a great week? What is new in the hood?
So I just wanted to say I’ve been featured yet again in the ever so popular Perfect Wedding Magazine for their SOS column.
This time they wanted me to write a response for the two following questions: –
Hello, hello, hello my lovely Moers! How are you?
Following on from my recent blog post on ‘What is a Charger Plate?’ I thought I would create this #5reasonsvideo on wedding place setting’s, to give you an idea on what should be thought about and included in your place setting design.
Bonjorno my lovelies! I hope you’re all well and recovered from all the food and drink you ate and drank during the Christmas and New Year break?
This should help you help relax you for a few minutes, or it could just make you scream because you want to go away right NOW!
Hello my lovely Moers!
So, the wedding is just around the corner, you’ve chosen the rings, the juice diet paid off at the final dress fitting (phew!), but you’re still no closer to finalising plans for your hen do? Worse still, your partners friends’ idea of a cracking stag do is a few swift ones down the pub, before a boozy bar crawl, ending with a greasy kebab and stumbling up the stairs to fall face first into bed?
Bonjorno my lovely people!
Today I found an amazing idea on Junebug Weddings which I had to share because it’s just genius!
This couple had escort cards so the guests can find where their sitting, but then each guest had to replace the escort card with a polaroid picture of themselves and hang it back up where the escort card was!
It’s 9 day’s to CHRISTMAS aaaagggghhhh! Seriosuly I’m more excited this year than any other year; it seems the older I get the more excited I get about the whole thing. Though I’m no way near ready and only have 3 days to be as we’re starting the Christmas Holiday’s this Friday!
Anyway, enough about my drama how are you? How is the planning going (not sure how many times I’ve asked that recently, and not got a reply! Rejection!).
Today’s post is covering groom’s attire. A couple of months ago there were posts entitled ‘Dressing our Beautiful Grooms‘ and ‘Dressing the Groom pt 2‘, but there is more to a man’s wedding attire than the suit.
Hello my little moers, how are you?
So today is a just a brief post shedding some light into choosing the perfect wedding ring.
Whether you’re choosing a diamond encrusted wedding band or an engagement ring, there really is a lot to consider. Believe it or not, there is so much to take into account when it comes to selecting the one; from the four Cs to finding the perfect ring to match your bride’s personality, it’s hard to know where to start.
Hello my lovely moers how are you? Don’t you just love these crisp winter days at the moment? The weekends weather was just fantastic!
How are all your wedding plans going? Come on spill the beans?
It’s a little bit dusty the 5 Reasons, but they’re back and today’s video is why you should work as a team during the wedding planning process. It will mean that you can both enjoy the lead up to the day, you both know what is happening at your wedding, and that there will be less stress because you have each other to turn to.
How are we all and isn’t this weather just lovely at the moment?! Crisp winter days = happiness! Though I’m not looking forward to the dreaded January and February. I do feel sorry for those months, as they don’t really have a lot going for them, do they?
What is new with you, and how are your wedding plans going?
Today’s post is what I’m seeing next year, and giving you my top 5 wedding trends.
Hello my little moers, how are you? What is new in the hood?
How are all the plans going for your amazing weddings? I would love to hear all about it!
I’m not sure if you knew or not, but the other week I was featured on the incredible and amazing ‘You Mean The World To Me‘ blog, giving a guide to getting married in Cyprus.
Bonjour, bonjour lovely people!
Following on from last weeks ‘how to choose the perfect honeymoon‘ we bring you pt. 2, which offers some other amazing honeymoon places and giving you some great tips on what to do in each of the destinations.
Back to the brilliant Lekker Adventures team.
Hello my lovelies!
Today is a gloomy winters days, so what better way to have a blog post about perfect honeymoon destinations and how to choose the right place?! I know, how mean am I?!
This is pt 1, and it’s been given to me by the ever so popular and amazing Lekker Adventures, a travel company based in London, helping people pick the perfect getaways for honeymoons, and other types of holidays.
It’s a lovely read, and the photos just make you wish you were there.
Happy Wednesday everybody! How the devil are you all and what is new in the hood?
The #5reasonsvideos are back YAY!!!!!!!!
Well it’s not that exciting, but I’m sure it is for some people.
Today’s video is all about getting organised and creating a to do list before planning anything. I know it sounds crazy, but it helps massively, as it will inform you what to do when during the process, and it will make you less stressed!
When I first heard we were getting an all girl band I was excited, to say the least. Its not a secret that I love a bit of girl power, go girls and women around the world! But these girls were going to be even better than your average girl band, they play instruments and pretty much rock out, hard. I couldn’t help but feel eager for Festival Foxes to play. And then, I felt apprehensive…. What if they didn’t live up to my expectations of a girl band!? What if they weren’t good!? What if they didn’t like me!? I needn’t worry. They were everything I would want in a band and more. Seriously. I turned into this little fan girl when they were performing and I had only just met them.
Hello my lovely people! How are you and are you having a lovely day?
So what’s new in MO land, well I’ve been busy taking new bookings for next year and 2016! Only got 2 weddings left this year :-(, both are in December and I’m very aware that I’ve neglected the blog and you guys, so again massive apologies!
Also guess what day it is today?! MY BIRTHDAY!! So you should feel special that I’ve posted this for you :-).
Sorry, I’m just now a member of the amazing and beautiful Grey Likes Wedding, which is amazing, because they found me online and asked me to join their community. They don’t let any Tom, Dick and Harry join either, so it’s a great privilege to be supported by them, especially as I love their brand so much.
Wow! I just realized my last blog was created on the 18th September! How very naughty of me.
How have you all been? What is new in the hood, as I say? Any great wedding plans happening?
So I’ve decided to create another video, not a 5 Reasons video, a tip video and this one is on tips on getting ready for your wedding! Basically the morning of your wedding and what to do to prepare.
Hello my beautiful lovely people! How the devil are you all?
So as you know I’m currently a member of the amazing and ever so popular Junebug Weddings directory, which showcases hand picked suppliers and weddings all over the globe. They showcase luxury weddings and design structures on their blog and also ask many of their members to write articles for them to showcase to their thousands of readers.
You can see where I’m going with this, can’t you?
Hola, hola, hola my beauts! How are we all doing?
So this is not a 5 reasons video, this is probably my first ever video that is not a 5 reasons video! I thought I’ll start creating more videos like this as it generally gives more advice.
Since the beginning discussions with Matthew about writing for his blog I mentioned ‘Roxanne Meets’. Really I wanted to get to taste cake and good food and try on wedding dresses…. So far none of this has happened. I have met some wonderful, amazing, talented people though, so no complaints. Although if you are interested in having me come and eat cake or try on dresses or just have a natter and I write about it, email me Roxanne@matthewoliverweddings.com
So here is my first…
Can you believe it’s nearly the end of August? I really don’t know where this year has gone, it’s literally disappeared with me. I have two more weddings left in August, then I’m going to focus on making this blog & website better! Even though you should see that the cows have gone, if you are a regular visitor! If you’re new, I promise I’m not insane.
Hola, hola lovely people.
How are we all doing?
Just another small post today I’m afraid as I was featured in Perfect Wedding Magazine‘s latest issue, with me giving advice on how to ask your bridesmaid’s to be your bridesmaid!
Check it out…
How are you all and what have you been up too?
Last week was definitely press week for me, and this was my third feature! I was in the recent issue of Perfect Wedding Magazine (just waiting for my copy) giving a top tip on how to let your bridesmaid know you want her as your bridesmaid! I was also on the incredible Style Me Pretty with one of my recent weddings! So not a bad week, because I was also on the radio!
Hello lovely people how are you? Hows everything going?
As you can imagine it’s all go here and I’m in the heart of crazy wedding season, which of course I love because I have some beautiful weddings happening, though it’s also really sad because it’s the end of a relationship with the couple! Of course we stay in contact, but it’s not the same.
Hey lover bums! How are you on this fine, fine, fine day?
Today I wanted to create a 5 Reasons… as at the time I was having a conversation with the fabulous and amazing Hayley from Head Over Heels Entertainment about one of our couple’s wedding bands and just wanted to give you some valuable advice on how to find the PERFECT wedding band!!
Bonjour my lovelies, how are you?
Today we have a wonderful guest speaker, giving us fantastic information about how to choose your wedding stationery! This can be quite a daunting task with planning your wedding, so it’s good to have a professional guide you on the right path and give you something to think about!
Let me introduce you to Lisa…
Check me out this week, 3rd post in a row!! Don’t expect this all the time though, but I’ll do my best to keep you happy!!
So I recently created this beautiful design board as my client is getting married in Cyprus next year and she wants it to be a very sophisticated, yet simple and using mint as the main colour!!
Hello, glorious people!
How are you all?
I just wanted to share this amazing advert with you today as the incredible Hazel Buckley, a fantastic wedding photographer is offering 10% off her services to all UK brides in 2015, as she is moving over here from Australia.
She is renowned in Australia for her creative work, and I’m extremely positive that she is going to fit in perfectly, here in the UK.
How are you all?! What’s new and how are all the wedding plans going?
So I decided to get back on track with the 5 Reasons Videos and I thought this one was a good subject as it’s all about why you should have your main photos before the wedding, so before the actual ceremony!!
Bonjour lovely, lovely people!
How are you?
I lied to you yet again :-/, I hope you don’t hate me? Well I did put a post up on Tuesday, so I’m not really lying am I?! OK no more promises from now on :-).
Anyway I just wanted to say I’m now a member of the beautiful, lavish, exquisite, wonderful Junebug Weddings, a luxury and designer inspiration website, offering their readers fashionable weddings from all over the globe, and a directory with only the best global planners, designers, photographers and venues.
Bonjour lovely people and I can actually say bonjour and get away with it today, because today’s post comes all the way from France, from a beautiful and extremely talented makeup artist, giving us some great tips for bridal makeup!!
Over to you Amy…
Hola! Just little old me again! Oh my god, isn’t this weather just AMAZING!!! I went out earlier with lil man (Winston the dog) and I was taking aback!! I’t sooooooo good!
Anyway, just another boring post for you again today as I wanted to share that I’m in the July/August edition of ‘You & Your Wedding Magazine’ with a little picture and a few words about wedding rehearsal dinners. Not much, but still a great opportunity to be in this magazine. Sorry it’s exciting for me, but I guess not you!!
Hola, hola, hola my beauts! How are you all?
I know I’ve not been around and I apologise massively for this, as I know some of you enjoy coming by and seeing what I’ve been doing recently and what’s new in MO land (no idea why, but hay ho).
So today I’m just letting you know that I was featured on the amazing Love My Dress blog, with one of my couples who got married on 1st February at the Roman Baths, Bath. It was a beautiful wedding and loved being part of it, especially as Bath is where I live!
How are we today? What a lovely day it is too? I even have washing on the line (never happens).
Obviously I had to pick a winner, and it was this lovely couple, Stephanie and Martin! I’m soooooo happy they won because look at how much they’re in love!
Opppps, I’m giving it all away before you watch it, here it is…
Hello my little lovelies, how are you? I don’t know why I’ve been calling you all little recently?! I don’t know how tall or small you are! One of my weird things I guess.
Anyway, just a quickie today as I wanted to share my recent radio talk on BBC Wiltshire with you. I was asked to go on and talk about wedding planning on the Graham Seaman show. He was talking about weddings in general and wanted me to come on and discuss what I do and how I can help couples getting married.
Why hello there my Lil’ lovelies, how are you? What’s new in the hood?
I’m wonderful thank you, had quite a weekend, with a marvellous wedding that was just breathtaking (photos to follow – one day 🙂 )
I thought I would share a design/inspiration board with you as I just put it together for a wedding couple getting married next year.
Why hello there lovely people of the world! How are you all doing? What is new and what have you been up to?
How are the plans going for the wedding? Only if you’re getting married of course, because you could be here just watching me! Who knows these days, hmmmm? I may not even have anyone that comes here getting married!
Anyway, it’s great to see/have you.
Hola me chekos! How are you?
Is’nt this weather just wonderful? I took wee Winst out in it this morning and was all wrapped up in my country bumpkin outfit; wellies included and thought I was going to melt!! I know dramatic right!?
Anyway just a super quick post as I wanted to inform you that I’m now a member of the incredible Little Black Book, of amazing wedding suppliers by the biggest wedding blog in the world, Style Me Pretty!!
Hola, hola, hola my chekos! How are you this week?
As you can imagine, everything is up and down at the moment as 1) its wedding season, and you know what? even though I was prepared this year, it still took me by surprise and 2) this little puppy called Winston, the red setter, is 100% crazy!
However, I’m really happy with life right now, even though it’s CRAZY!!
Aloha my lovely people! How are you all? How was your 3 day weekend? Mine was great!! First one off for a very, very long time, though I did feel really guilty :-/.
I wanted to share a quick infographic post with you, on on the guide to proposals as I thought it was really interesting, and I even learnt a thing or two from it!! If you want some ideas on how much to spend on a ring, or just to know the traditions in proposals, this is a great read for you!!
Grab your coffee and enjoy my peeps…
Hola me lovelies, hola!!
Haha, I’m officially back as I’ve just created my first 5 Reasons Video for like a month!! How I did it, well, I gave the dog his dinner, so he was distracted, though towards the end you can hear him, even though you can hear him munching all the way through hahaha.
It’s really good to be back you know, it’s been a long time and I’ve actually missed you; SHOCK HORROR!!
Hola, hola my lovely people, how are you? Apologies for not being around recently, I’ve been learning how to be a dad, well a dog dad anyway, which I have to say is not the easiest whilst trying to run a business.
Here is the monster, with a huge personality already.
Bonjour, bonjour lovely, amazing people!! How are we on this fine, fine day??
I know I keep mentioning it, but this time tomorrow little Winston will be in my arms!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I can’t wait!!
Today’s 5 reasons video is something I’ve been meaning to post for ages, I want you all to know about this subject as it’s really important to me and that you understand it too.
Hello my lovelies how are you all today?
Cannot believe in two days little Winston (puppy) will be running around like a maniac. We’re so excited!!
Anyway, some more MO news for you, as I’m featured on the incredible B.Loved wedding blog today with the ever so talented Christian and Erica – Film Photography for the beautiful wedding of Vicci and James Massey.
What’s up and new in the hood hommies!!
As spring is all around and full of bright pastely colours, I thought you would love my recent wedding inspiration board. Actually this all reminds me of tulips, as tulips come in so many beautiful colours.
I love, love, love colour, especially the bright kind (yes I’m gay), it’s tasty and completely yummy; hence why I love spring and would only want to get married at this time of year!
Hola, beautiful people, how are you all today?
I’m all over the social media today because I’ve seen new pictures of the little Winston (below). Already it proves that he is far more popular than I am, so he will 110% be taking my place from the 5 Reasons Videos.
Talking about the 5 Reasons Videos, today’s one is all about lovely garters and why we need them for our weddings! Why don’t we all wear one and why shouldn’t we be proud to wear one! Our great, great, great ancestors started this tradition back in the 14th century, it would be rude not to continue this great tradition.
Hola, hola beautiful people, how are we today?
I’m not sure if you remember my 100th video 5 reasons competition I did last year? It was a competition where I gave one lucky couple a free on the day service, to make sure their wedding ran smoothly and efficiently.
The lucky winners were the beautiful Jolene and handsome Ben, who got married last July.
Bonjour lovely, lovely people. How are we today? Enjoying Monday? Hmmmmmmm I hate Mondays and wish we could skip them. I was actually thinking about starting a partition on changing our calendar, days, months and years, so we can have 3 days off at weekends and still have a 5 day week, so instead of a 7 day week it will be an 8 day week. What do you think? I totally think this can happen, and the new day will be called Moday, as I thought of it. Would you sign the partition?
Anyway, again I was going off route on why I’m actually here. I’m writing this post today because I was recently on BBC Wiltshire again talking about my job as a wedding planning as they wanted to talk to male one as the majority of planners are female.
Hello lovely people, how are you all today?
It’s a big media day today for me, as I was on the radio recently and need to upload it, I’m actually on Rock My Wedding Blog today with a wedding I created last year and yesterday I became a level 1 member with the UKAWP!
Good afternoon! What is new in the hood my lovelies?
How are you all enjoying this superb and beautiful weather? It’s striking and makes me utterly happy. I wore shorts and a t-shirt on the weekend! Not sure why I shared that, but hay ho.
So less than 3 weeks till you’ll be seeing less of me and more of Winston (Red Setter Pup). He is going to replace me as I feel he will 1) be better to look at and 2) go viral.
Hola lovely peeps. How are you on this lovely spring afternoon? Such a lovely, lovely day.
I know I haven’t kept up with my blogging on the photo shoot and it’s a bit weird blogging about an autumn themed wedding inspiration in spring! However if you’re planning an autumn wedding for this autumn then it’s OK because now is the time to start planning and looking at inspiration.
Hola, bonjour gorgeous peeps!! What’s new in the hood today?
So there really is light at the end of the tunnel isn’t there? This weather is lovely, I know it’s not amazing, but it’s an improvement from everything else we’ve had recently!
How many of you have heard of Pinterest?
Hello, hello everyone. How are thee all this week?
Apologies that this is the blog post this week! I hope you can forgive me?
At least it’s a 5 Reasons, or do you prefer the others?
How are you all, on this, fine, fine day? You know when it’s nice outside when your neighbours are in the garden, cutting the hedge, mowing the lawn (Have I ever said, that I love the word mowing?). It makes me laugh when you hear them in full force.
What’s fresh (new)?
So how lucky are you, not one, but 2 #5reasonsvideos this week!! You’re completely spoilt.
Today’s video focuses on why you should research and compare at least 3 suppliers from each sector; sector, meaning florists, photographers, cake designers, venues, stationers etc, etc.
Hola, hola!! How are we all? What a lovely day it is? Spring is knocking on the door don’t you think?
What’s new in the hood, and how are all your wedding plans going?
I’m back with another 5 Reasons… Video and today, it’s a simple one, just advising you all to write a photography shot list, so you and your photographer know what’s happening.
Bonjour! How are you all?
I believe I always ask how you are, but no one asks me :-(, it makes me sad!
Get it together Matthew!
Following on from last weeks, weekly autumn wedding inspiration of the photo shoot I directed (like the sound of that), of a gay tweedy wedding design, I have an incredible supplier to introduce you all too…
Hola, hola, hola! How are thee all today?
I’m feeling OK, thanks for asking; was crazy tired this morning, and have no idea why!! We’ve just started watching Battlestar Galactia, and we’re hooked!! We’re half way through the second series; it really does draw you in, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s why I was a little tired :-/.
Anyway, you didn’t come here for me to ramble on about sci-fi programs, you hopefully (hopefully been the big bold word here) came to watch my video about wedding stationary, and why you shouldn’t be scared of it!!
I hope you’re all well and having an incredible day? The sun is finally out, so hopefully the nasty weather won’t come back!! Weirdly I had Mother Nature dreams last night, probably because I just watched the new episode of ‘Walking Dead’ and on Sunday watched ‘World War Z’. The dream was about the flooding and how it wiped out most of the country!! Powerful, scary dream, huh?
Anyway back to reality and to the point of this post!!
Bonjourno, not sure what hello is in Green yet? Maybe peace, but starting an article with the word peace doesn’t sound right, does it? I believe the Green language will be a full language in the next 30/50 years as everything at the moment is all about going green and let’s be green, which of course I totally agree with, but I’m not here to start a debate, just offer inspiration and happiness of course.
Hola, me lovelies, how are you all today?
It’s nearly the weekend, wooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! What are you up to? Anything nice?
So over the next few weeks I’m going to talk about each incredible supplier who helped at the ‘Autumn/Gay/Tweed Wedding Inspiration Photo Shoot’ I did back in October last year. I know, I know, I promised this ages ago, but it gives you something to look forward to now.
Hello, hello, ello lovely people.
How are you all today? What a week yeah? I hope the weather is well where you are?
I don’t know if you knew or not, but did you see (hear) that I was on the radio last week? I was on radio Wiltshire, where Sue Davies had to guess what I did for a living! It was a little tongue and chic, but it was fun and I enjoyed being part of the show as its great advertising.
Haha ( well I don’t think I’ve ever started a post with that before). I’m just laughing at the title, do people understand that? I know when it comes to listening and talking to me, it takes someone that has known me for a long time to understand my jibber jabber; now it’s coming out in my writing!! So let’s hope you understand the rest of this post.
Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour!! Well actually I should be writing YO, as I’m featuring a beautiful American wedding today on the blog. Is YO what American’s say? You would’ve of thought I would know after working with an American couple for 9 months, to plan their wedding. On that note I’m sorry Caroline and Tom.
So I’ve been meaning to feature this for a while, and I apologise about that as I think I promised I would be featuring it back in December after it was featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings (click link to see review/feature).
Hello everybody, how are you all today?
The sun is shining and by god don’t I have some exciting and wonderful news for you all!!
What a wonderful, exciting, prize to be won!!
Good morning, beautiful, amazing, lovely people!! I’m very happy today as you can imagine, well not only is it a Thursday (1 more day till the weekend), the fantastic Wedding Secret have let me share their great blog post about same sex marriage; which is actually being allowed, yeah!! I know right, it’s taken ages. Though there is no need to hold grudges anymore, let’s just celebrate for equality.
This article is full of useful information about same sex marriage, what you need to do to register, the relevant websites and information that you need!!
Over to the brilliant Wedding Secret, who composed this fabulous (best word to use right now) post…
Hola, hola, lovely beautiful people!!
So what is new? What’s been happenin’ this week with y’all? I’m trying to be all cool, but I don’t think it’s working is it? Nope!!
Hello, hello lovely people, how are you all today?
This blog came at a great time as I just went to a Hen Party this weekend!! Yes I get invited to Hen Parties, as most of my friends are female. I’m not going to go into the details (what happens on a Hen, stays on a Hen), but it was a fantastic night 🙂
On with the show I shall say…
Bone die, which of course means hello in Sardinian as we’re taking a little trip to Sardinia in this post for a beautiful real wedding from Kama Wedding.
I’m not sure if any of you have travelled to Sardinia before? If you haven’t I totally recommended it as it’s such a beautiful unspoilt place, and if you were to get married there, it would be a perfect meditation wedding!!
How are you all? So I was wrong in saying the other day that I believe the weather is amazing everywhere. I couldn’t be more wrong, even if I have bright sun here (Bath), Devon seems to have rain all day, every day!!
How are you all today? God, I feel like I’ve not talked to you in ages, actually I haven’t!! I so totally thought I did a blog recently :-/. I must be going insane (well we all know that’s right).
Of course I’ll like to apologise for my absence, and I will be doing a video today; again I let myself down didn’t I?
Yo yo my lovely people.
It’s really weird leaving your normal way of life behind; what I’m trying to say is that I’m currently up North in Preston and it’s ruined my routine!! I’ve been up here since Monday, not counting my weekend in Liverpool with the AMAZING bestie!! Maybe it’s because I miss the boy, do any of you feel like this when you leave you’re routine?
Anyway, I know what you’re thinking; he’s rambling again!!
Today’s post is a lovely one, all about wedding gifts, and giving you some top tips on what you should do and what to ask for!!
Bonjour everyone!! How’s it going?
Who is still in need for a dress, and is looking for something new and different? Well let me say you’ve definitely come to the right place as today I’m featuring one of Topwedding’s UK (a online Bridal brand) new collections for short beautiful and classic wedding dresses.
Well, I know how bad I’ve been so I don’t need you all telling me off, thank you very much, though my excuse is I had a lovely well deserved break throughout the Christmas period and now I’m ready to take on 2014!! In saying that I wish you all a Happy New Year.
The last 5 Reasons Video blog was created over 3 weeks ago, so when I started this I was nervous, but totally excited to get back on track with them.
Hello, hello my wondrous lovely people. How are we all today? I’m sorry for the lack of interesting blogs as I’m sure you hate all the features of me instead of videos and tips? However I’m back today!! For real!!
Today’s blog is a very special one indeed as its advice after your wedding!! Yep, after your wedding when you’re both looking for a house to buy/rent, unless you’ve already got one and that would have just spoiled the whole post for you!! Though I’m sure this article will help a few of you out there. I sure find it useful and when it’s my turn to buy a house with my partner, and then I’ll follow these tips.
Anyway enough of my rambling here is what you’ve come for…
How have you been and did you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year?
I’m officially back now from my 2 weeks break! You can say I’m well rested, but I would be lying because it’s been one hell of a 2 weeks break (pretty non-stop).
Hello, lovely, lovely people! How are we? So yesterday was a week till Christmas!! Whoop, whoop. I can’t wait, I’m so excited.
I love this article, one of my favourites I’ve accepted from an outsource. I don’t normally take them on, but this one had to be on MO as it’s fun and interesting.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it?
Last week was a great week for been featured in world famous wedding blogs; you may of seen the beautiful Caroline & Tom’s wedding in Whimsical Wonderland Weddings on Thursday?
Hello, hello beautiful lovely people? How are you all today?
I’M FANTASTIC, thanks for asking as I’m featured on the amazing and wonderful Whimsical Wonderland Weddings today!!
Hola beautiful magical people. How are we all doing today?
In today’s 5 Reasons video I decided to dress up as a Christmas decoration, well in the colours of a Christmas decoration (I’ll let you use your imagination to what decoration I would be). As it’s Christmas time it was a perfect excuse to do so and as we just put Boris up (our Christmas tree, before you wonder who Boris is) that was another reason as I was feeling completely festive.
Although the video is not in any way festive, I thought dressing up in Christmas colours would make it more fun (you know me).
Hello, hello lovely people. How are you?
I’m a complete kid today as I brought my Christmas decorations today and they’re all consisting of little animals, I really couldn’t resist as they’re all soooo cute!! Once I have them all on the tree I’ll show you as I’ll be a proud man!! I’m more excited about this Christmas more than any other Christmas ever.
Hola, cómo estás my beautiful people (using English and Spanish)
Happy December everyone!! Can you believe it?? I can’t!! I’m such a big kid in December as I love everything to with it!! Mulled wine, mince pies, warm nights, cheesy Christmas music, CHRISTMAS JUMPERS and of course Christmas. I’m such a big kid with it all.
Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour!
So what is new with you all? Anything exciting on this wonderful Friday evening?
As you know my last 5 Reasons was on ‘Not to Spend Your Life Savings on a Wedding’, so I decided to go the other way and create this video on Why You Should Spend Your Life Savings on a Wedding!! A completely different topic and concept from the other one.
Bonjour, hola everyone. How are you all doing? Good I hope?
Here is my recent 5 Reasons video in a special two part series (thought series works) on why not to blow your life savings on your wedding and why you should blow your life savings on a wedding!!
Hello lovely people! Hou ar ye (I believe this is how you say how are you in Scottish)?
This is the perfect location for any wedding, EVER!! It has a lake, it’s massive, it looks like Hogwarts, there are acres of grounds, you could see Nessie the Lochness Monster, it’s just perfect and that’s all I can really say.
How the devil are you all? It’s been a while…………….
So yesterday I went to Devon (the video was created yesterday) and went to one of my beautiful couples reception locations, which is at the bride’s family home; hence why I’ve created this video.
Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour my lil lovelies. What’s new in the hood?
So I’m back and created another 5 Reasons… video for you. Apologies it’s been up and down, up and down the last few weeks, but it’s back so no complaining please.
Haha you haven’t caught me out yet either, I’m still dressing smart. What do you think of this approach?
Anyway here is a little video about how we wedding planners can save you money across the board when it comes to planning your wedding.
Today’s blog deserves a range of hello’s from across the world not just Bonjour!! So imagine I said hello in every language, because if I wrote everyone out knowing me I would miss one and ya’ll be angry!! Yeah I’m evening slanging it today by saying ya’ll. I know right, where did you find me?
Bonjour mes belles personnes (hello my lovely people).
Who knows why I’m speaking French at the moment, but I’m sure it will change soon; maybe I’ll be speaking ancient Red Indian next!
So how are we all? It’s been a great day here so far; just had my lovely afternoon coffee so all perked up and ready to go with this post.
Today’s 5 Reasons is a simple one really just talking about feature walls and backdrops; basically about the design and creation of weddings.
Ni Hao (hello in Chinese and different from me saying bonjour all the time)
I told you I’ll keep to my promise and dress smartly now for my videos, though you know what I’m like I could easily forget; which means you can tell me off and I’ll dedicate a video and subject to you about anything!! Yes anything!! It could be about butterflies, my house, hay even bran flakes!! All I say is to keep your eyes peeled ;-).
So today’s 5 Reasons video is about support and how you need a support system throughout your wedding planning.
It’s a new day and it’s a beautiful one too!! I’m even doing the washing and hanging it outside; can you believe it??
So as promised in this 5 Reasons video I’m going to make more of an effect with you guys and present myself a lot better, i.e. more shirts, bow ties etc. If you see me in a video without a shirt or bow tie I’ll create a video especially for you and on a topic of your choice. Understand?
So today’s video is “To Help Prevent You From Forgetting Your Bouquet!!”
So yes, again it’s been awhile since I brought a blog post out (slap my wrist!!). Actually I think the last one was last Thursday with my 5 Reasons… To Have a Dress Up Theme For Your Wedding. Actually don’t follow that link as I’m sure you don’t want to see me dressed up as Peter Pan!!
As I’m on the subject of my 5 Reasons… Videos, today’s post is also one and it’s on the ever so important subject, YOUR GUESTS!!
Before you say anything I’m only dressing up to the theme of the video!! Well I do love to dress up as Peter Pan, hence why I have this costume.
We all love to dress up, some more than others, but have you thought about having a dress up theme for your wedding where guests can make an even bigger effort and dress up to your theme?
Todays 5 Reasons gives you just that, why to have a dress up themed wedding.
Hello lovely beautiful people!! How are we all??
So as you’ll see from the video I decided to chop my chair and stop growing my sides and back!! I don’t know why I ever thought it was going to look good, but hay ho we all make those mistakes in life don’t we?
As my biggest passion is weddings the design behind a wedding I’m just as passionate about as it’s how the wedding is brought to life. Not only do you need creativity you also need passion for you to make the design work!!
Yasou!! Probably a better introduction than Bonjour as today we’re going to the beautiful island of love; CYPRUS!!
I know I’ve neglected Matthew Oliver Loves recently. It’s been on hold because I’ve being focusing on beautiful weddings this summer!! And golly gosh have I met some amazing, beautiful, fantastic suppliers in this time, so don’t worry you’ll get a backlist of who I recently met and worked with real soon.
But first, I’m ecstatic to feature an amazing Cyprus venue today; Vasilias, which is nested in the beautiful village called Nikoklia, just outside Paphos (one of the major resorts).
Bonjour!! Ha, I really don’t know why I keep saying bonjour recently, though I kinda like it!! Gives me an edge; what do you think? Am I being utterly delirious or is it kinda cool?
Anyway, on with the new 5 Reasons… Though I’ll like to apologise for my hair, I’m trying to grow it, but it’s not working :-).
I love planning a wedding (obviously) and I’m sure you all will too, because behind all the stress and drama there is the beautiful design of the day, what shall I base my wedding on? Where can I get this? And what shall I do with it?
Hola everyone, how are thee all?
Before you say it I know! I know I’ve neglected you again and can’t really think of an excuse to say why :-/. Though I’ll like to take this time and apologise for my absence from the videos! There has been blogs though, so not been that bad!!
Anyway before I dig a hole even deeper I’ll like to introduce you to my newest 5 Reasons video on timings at your wedding reception.
Just a little quickie as I received a beautiful thank you from the incredible Caroline and Tom, whose wedding I had planned earlier this year. June infact!!
Not wanting to give too much away but had to post this incredible and thoughtful comment from them.
Hello everyone. How are you all? Cannot believe its Friday again.
So I have a very special post today about seasonal flowers and why you need to think about the seasons you’re getting married in and what is available in terms of flowers.
Enjoy the read.
Wowwe, I’m so happy to be sharing this infographic with you from the amazing Wedding Secret.
It’s just great to look at how the industry is changing year on year!!
I love looking at the olden day records, it’s really interesting.
Anyho, I’m sure you want to see it??
Afternoon, beautiful, lovely, gracious people! How are thee all today?
This video is very important to me as I feel you should know why it’s SO IMPORTANT to have a videographer at your wedding!!
So this video is a little crazy (like me I guess) though I thought I’ll create this to not only tell you where I would go if I were to go on a honeymoon, but for you to get to know me more personally.
I’m sure your destinations are completely different to mine, but do you agree with me to have an adventure honeymoon or a beach honeymoon?
It’s so good to be back!! I’m so, so, sorry it’s been awhile.
Anyho, how have you been? What’s new and what have you been up to?
So to start things off as a lot of you would’ve got engaged recently I decided to go right back to the beginning and tell you how to plan a wedding!! Obviously I couldn’t go through everything, but at least I can set you up and put you on the right path.
Any kind of wedding planning is stressful but deciding on a guest list can be a pretty huge stumbling block as you’ll generally feel like you have to invite everyone even though there are some people who you really don’t want to be part of your big day. This isn’t a problem that you’re facing on your own, in fact it’s one that’s faced by almost every couple in the run up to their wedding day.
Although the idea of the heavens opening and there being no respite from the rain on your big day is probably not something you want to think about, it’s something that you need to plan for just in case. Besides, it’s supposedly good luck if it rains on your wedding day so bear that in mind. If you see that the weather forecast has given out rain on your big day then the first thing you’ll want to do is cry but it’s important to hold back the tears and think about the best way to handle the weather.
Planning a wedding is hard enough without the consideration of the fact that your guests might not enjoy themselves and that the dance floor will remain empty for the whole night. Of course this is unlikely, however it’s possible so in order to avoid this nightmare scenario you need to make sure you give your guests a reason to get up and dance the night away.
How are you my beautiful, sexy, gorgeous people?
I’m featured again in Perfect Wedding Magazine with the new HOT TOPIC of “Should we have a joint hen and stag do?” with the incredible and delightful Becky Hoh-Hale who not only has the amazing A Most Curious Party, she is the arranger/organiser/guru of the A Most Curious Wedding Fair.
Hello, hello everyone how are you all today?
Firstly I can’t believe it’s a Friday again and that it’s the 30th August and secondly I’m really upset that Sara Cox is finished her morning slot on radio 1!! I love her, though happy that Fearny is coming back. As long as Greg James stays I’m happy ;-).
So over the next few months I’m going to be putting together a design board directory of amazing suppliers/venues in different areas from around the UK and abroad. Each creation will go with the style of the area, for example today’s one is Bath Weddings and I have designed it around couture/classic weddings.
I love music, do you love music? I’m sure you do.
So you can imagine it’s vital to incorporate your favourite artists and songs at your wedding, as it not only personalises it, it creates a beautiful atmosphere where you and your guests can relive it whenever they listen to that song again.
Music sets us in different moods and incorporating this emotion at your wedding will bring your wedding to life.
So today has been quite successful, talked to wedding clients about their wedding, met up with a venue to see if it was suitable for weddings (it was) and created a chicken blog post!! You’re like a CHICKEN BLOG POST?? Yes I do free-lance blog posts and one company wanted me to write about chickens, so a very proactive day.
Oh and of course I created this beauty, well I’ve been putting it together for a while and tah dah here is my POP ART WEDDING creation, or in other words – design board.
Howdy beautiful people, how are thee all today?
Massive apologies for the lack of blogs this week, I’ve been working on a sister company, which is all hush hush and I’ll announce very soon. So I’m sure you can understand :-).
I know I keep going on about wedding guests, but it’s so important they know what’s right, what’s wrong and really the official rules for weddings, hence why I’ve created this video for you.
Afternoon, wondrous people how are you today? Nice weekend? Mine was amazing thank you!! First weekend I had off for ages J.
It’s a new week, a new day and a new 5 Reasons video.
This video has been in the pipeline since I created ‘5 Reasons… Bride Wedding Day Tips’ (did you see it?).
Morning everyone, how are you all on this beautiful day??
As you noticed yesterday there was no post, well partly because I was in London!! Going to London is such an effort, it’s like a day out of the office and not to mention you have to plan what you’re going to wear and make sure you look the part. Bleh is how I feel to that, though the meeting was very proactive.
Afternoon beautiful people. How are you all today and this week?
So what have you all been up to? Any exciting news with you?
I went crazy as I was like why have I not created this video before, it’s one of the most important ones!! I’m such a dumpty, though you have it now my beautiful brides. Oh don’t worry grooms, yours will be coming soon.
Hallo, I keep to my words and here’s my 4th post of a week and a very special design board too!
I’m sure you all know, well if you don’t I have a massive love for Tweed and I mean MASSIVE!! Even to the point if I were going to get married (maybe one day) I would most probably wear Tweed and design the whole wedding around it; completely country style, not forgetting the marmite of course. Haha a Tweed and Marmite wedding, who’d a thought!
So I’m heading for 5 blogs this week, already managed 3, 2 to go.
I have changed and found my video backdrop (blackdrop in the video), which I feel really happy about. Any ideas what I should do with the picture in the background?
WARNING RANTING VIDEO!!!
Afternoon amazing people, how are you all today?
I’m a lot happier as I got my coffee this morning; it was weird yesterday I think I was in a complete dozy world (well I am anyway, but yesterday more than others). Though I’m not impressed because none of you sent me that coffee I was after??
There I go again, rambling on :-/.
So I’m trapped in the house with torrential rain outside, can’t leave and can’t get any milk for a coffee!! All I want is a coffee and Mother Nature is obviously trying to tell me something.
Anyone want to send me a coffee? Can you do that? Send coffee to people across the world? I’m maybe onto a new invention.
Enough of my rambling, which I know you all love and on with the newest addition to the 5 Reasons family; ‘To Have a Weekday Wedding’.
Bonjorno to you all; how are you all?
I got the hello right on today’s Matthew Oliver Loves as we’re off to Italy to show you an amazing, tranquil wedding venue. I wish I was actually going, that would make me really happy right now.
So we’re off to show you the remarkable and incredible Giuncatello Country Estate, located in the Tuscan hills, literally in the middle of nowhere!! This is a perfect venue for a small, personal, intimate wedding; though I don’t see why you can’t go crazy and have a larger affair here too as it’s extremely versatile.
Hello my lovelies, how are thee?
I know this is major late as we’ve had the craze and the film came out years ago, but as I only just watched the film the other day and also had an enquiry for a Marie Antoinette wedding, so me being me I thought I should create this pretty little frenchy board.
Even though I say we’ve had the craze, there is still a massive demand for this style and design. It’s completely creative and brings simply venues to life with the colour and the wowness.
Bonjour once again my beautiful people.
I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happppppyyyyyy it’s still hot, hot, hot J. I can’t contain the excitement, even though it’s been here a while.
So I have no idea why I called this 5 Reasons, Photo Booths are the New Wedding Cake! Maybe because I have seen more photo booths than wedding cakes at weddings recently, or maybe because I don’t really like wedding cakes (don, don, don).
Hello, and welcome to a new week, new day and a new beginning for a whole load of us.
The sun is still happy and shining bright in the UK, he must be really happy with us to give us this treat for over 4 weeks now; thank you mr sun.
Oh and we have a royal baby on the way, this time in probably 6 hours we will find out the sex. I’m hoping for a princess. What you hoping for?
As it’s hot, hot, hot I thought I would create this 5 Reasons video as it’s all about strap marks and how to prevent them for appearing or shall I say taking over your wedding.
Bo journo, how are thee all today? Hot? Well some of you aren’t stuck at a desk, so no complaints please.
Choosing a caterer for your wedding is semi difficult as you want the caterers to supply perfect food and officer a fantastic service that all guests can appreciate and enjoy, though you can get lost in the process of choosing one as they’re not only loads to choose from you need to have an idea of what you want and what you’re willing to spend.
Holla beautiful people, how are you? How was your weekend? Hopefully you’re not to lobster like.
I thought I’ll start this week with a 5 Reasons video as it’s a beautiful day and to celebrate all the gorgeous weddings that took place on the weekend. Congratulations by the way!
Hallo wondrous, gracious people.
Today I’m contemplating a website change, why do I always want to do this? I’m never happy with anything!!
This is my favourite 5 Reasons video thus far as I feel it’s on a really important subject and I’m on my very best behaviour (which doesn’t always happen).
As it’s a new day, a new beginning, a new challenge, a new EVERYTHING (I know I’m totally weird), it’s a perfect day for a new Matthew Oliver Loves post!!
As weddings are such loved events it’s important you love the suppliers that help create your wedding, as without them it won’t be much loved. As a member of the wedding industry my MO Loves are here for you to see who I love and as I love them you can be 100% certain they will do a fantastic job before and on your special day.
Let me introduce you to the next act (I like that)…
Hello, my lovely, wonderful, beautiful people. How are you all today??
The weather is still holding out for us, I wonder how long it will last.
